Well, 4th Edition D&D has been revealed in a way, over at the D&D Experience this weekend. A lot of people played it, and the scenarios were designed to kill players at the end of the scenario. I feel that that kinda is a bad precedence to set out, but some people overcame the obstacles and won anyway, so maybe it wasn't as bad as they tried to make it sound.
Overall, the new system is a little chaotic and the tracking of powers and when you can use them seems to be a little strained at times, but a lot of people like it. Of course, this has started up a Love It/Hate It thing in the D&D community all over again, with some people jumping the sides of the fences.
Overall, as far as the mechanics go, it's a descent game. If you tweaked a couple of things, you probably could play along their revised Miniature game and not ever really tell the difference.
There is a lot of opinions, and as you can tell from my blog, I am rather opinionated about the subject too, but that is the New and Interesting report from an unbiased point of view.
I just replied to you! Oh.. wait.. you said new and interesting. Ah, well, 50% on a curved grading scale in this country is about a B+, so close enough. ;-)
Roger was just offered a commission to do a work for the centennial of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2009. This a MAJOR BIG DEAL.
I R proud of him. The original will theoretically end up hanging in the track's Hall of Fame Museum, and this commission seriously increasses his odds of getting another commission to do the program (a major, major deal for motor sports artists, which will put him in the cream o' crop with people like Nick Watts). He already does the programs for Sebring, so fingers, toes, ears, elbows...all crossed.
Blatant self promotion here, but the first new dictionary of Tamil<->English Verbs in about 100 years will be out this March in both an XML and PDF format. Also, late 2008 or early 2009, there'll be a Yoruba<->English Dictionary out that includes Gullah and an English<->Lucumi<->Spanish dictionary as well.
I just got back from an interview. I am now the Political Compliance Officer for the Delaware chapter of the Sierra Club. I'll be working with the board of directors and acting as an advisor to the PAC in Delaware as the election season progresses for the state. It's exciting to be finally working with the Sierra Club in an organizational capacity - I look forward to playing my part in raising the public's environmental and political conciousness where I live.

OK, something that doesn't involve bragging.
Congratulations, Tek!
