Dear all,
Terry Pratchett is suffering from early-onset Alzheimer's. He has pledged $1 million (US) to the Alzheimer's Research Trust, a group that supports research into Alzheimer's.

[info]fastfwd heard about his donation, and started the Match It For Pratchett, an organization devoted to raising another $1 million from fans of Terry Pratchett.

This idea is very good. If you don't trust [info]fastfwd to donate the money directly, then give to a local Alzheimer's group yourself. (Her site gives plenty of links to other Alzheimer's groups.)

Actually, I'm not asking anyone to send me any money at all. I've put up links to the Alzheimer's Research Trust in the UK, and to the US Alzheimer's organization.

[info]tregenza took it upon himself to put together a website gratis, which has lots of good information on it and links for direct donations.

I have also posted responses from the UK Alzheimer's Research Trust. They are receiving an unprecedented amount of donations, with more coming in all the time.

When you donate, note that you are donating in honour of Terry and the Match It For Pratchett! campaign.
